Counseling for Intimacy
I see a need for Christian Intimacy counseling. Many couples are dissatisfied with their ability to connect emotionally—partially due to the “computerized” mind set, the need for instant gratification and various addictions that plague relationships.
When “I Do” doesn’t lead to a happy relationship, a couple can explore where the block is occurring. Counseling can be a safe way to discover and heal the blocks to intimacy, enhancing sexual expression. Often a man or woman have fears/concerns that block their ability to connect physically. Marriage can be an opportunity for personal growth or a great disappointment. The union of two doesn’t come with a “map”. Counseling can help clarify expectations and challenges, moving toward growth rather than conflict.
My thought---rather than continuing to hit the Wall - Learn what creates the wall, so you can take it down or walk around it. End the pain. Working through the conflict if an opportunity for more intimacy. Do not continue to experience the pain without the growth.
Pornography use or addiction can impact the relationship. Counseling can help both parties struggling with this issue.
